MV Agusta Reparto Corse is at Motorland Aragon in Spain with its two riders Raffaele De Rosa and Federico Fuligni, taking part in round four of the Supersport world championship. Yesterday the riders completed the first two practice sessions, De Rosa (1’55”633) finishing in sixth place and Fuligni eighteenth (1’57”586). This morning, under cloudy skies and with an air temperature of around 18°C, the two MV Agusta Reparto Corse riders took part in the third and final practice. De Rosa put in a great performance, managing to lower this time and close fourth overall with a best of 1’54”689. Fuligni also improved, by more than a second, to close seventeenth thanks to a time of 1’56”629. The two riders continued to make progress during Superpole. De Rosa (1’54”147) obtained a sixth-place finish, translating into a place on row two of the grid for the weekend’s two races, while Fuligni (1’55”195) finished fourteenth, so a fifth-row start for him. The sixth race of the championship took place this afternoon over a distance of 17 laps. De Rosa made a good start from row two but contact with other riders caused him to lose many positions. Seventh through the opening laps, Raffaele then began to lap consistently with times in line with the frontrunners. Maintaining this strong pace, he moved up to fifth position before crossing the line in eventual fourth place, just missing out on the podium. Fuligni made a great recovery from eighteenth to eventual twelfth place across the line, which saw him score valuable championship points. In the general standings, De Rosa lies seventh with 55 points while Fuligni is sixteenth with 9 points. Tomorrow will see the MV Agusta Reparto Corse riders back out on the Motorland Aragon track for the seventh race of the Supersport world championship.

Raffaele De Rosa: “I started the race well but as often happens some riders tried to make impossible moves which only served to cause them and others to lose ground. After that, I was lapping with similar pace to the leaders, but they had already built up a lead and I couldn’t catch up. I made up as many positions as possible and finished fourth. A good result, but I’m still disappointed because if I hadn’t been hindered through the first laps, we could have fought for the podium. Luckily, we have another race tomorrow and so I’ll try to make up for things. Thanks to my team for their great work.”
Federico Fuligni: “As always, the battle through the first turns caused me to lose places, but I felt good on my bike and was able to maintain a strong pace. I was recovering well, but unfortunately from the mid-race point I struggled to ride and lost confidence with the front, which was locking up. A pity because I could have done better than twelfth, though that’s a good result considering my starting position. For tomorrow we’ll make some changes to the bike, with the aim of entering the top ten. Thanks to my team as they’ve been a great help as always.”
